Objective
- The objective of the game is to move all of your pawns from your Base to the Home center before your opponents.
- In Team Modes, the entire team wins once every allied pawn reaches Home.
Classic Ludo Rules
- Base Exit: Pawns can only leave their starting base when a 6 is rolled.
- Bonus Rolls: A player is immediately awarded a bonus roll for rolling a 6, cutting an opponent's pawn, or successfully moving a pawn into the Home center.
- The 6-6-5 Limit: The engine enforces a strict physical limit on consecutive 6s to mirror authentic Ludo rules. No player can roll three 6s in a row. The maximum sequence is 6, then 6, then 5. This rule is absolute and cannot be bypassed, even by Chaos or God Mode.
Safe Squares
Pawns are invincible and cannot be cut while occupying any of the following locations:
- Star Cells: Specially marked star spaces on the board.
- Starting Squares: Every player's colored starting square.
- Home Columns: The colored pathway leading up to the Home center.
- Home Center: Pawns that have already reached Home are permanently safe.
Home Entry Rules
- A pawn must roll the exact number required to enter Home.
- If the rolled number exceeds the remaining distance, that pawn cannot move.
- Reaching Home awards one bonus roll.
Winning Conditions
Free For All
- The first player to bring all pawns Home wins the game.
Team Mode
- The team wins once every allied pawn across all team members reaches Home.
Team Modes & Soft Blockades
Ludo Social employs a specialized "Soft Blockade" system designed to prevent frustrating board deadlocks while rewarding strategic grouping.
- Team Mode Rules: Teammates cannot cut each other. The team shares victory.
- Forming a Blockade: If two or more allied pawns occupy the exact same square, they form a Soft Blockade. (In Free-for-All, they must be identical colors. In Team mode, allied colors combine).
- Blockade Protection: Protected stacks cannot be cut.
- Sharing the Square: Opponents are allowed to land on the same square. Multiple players/teams may temporarily share the cell.
- No Capture: Landing on a protected stack does NOT count as a capture. Therefore, no bonus roll is awarded.
- Passing Through: Blockades do not physically block the path. Opponents may freely move past them on subsequent turns.
Board Variants
Ludo Social supports multiple board sizes depending on the player count:
- 4 Players: Standard square board.
- 6 Players: Hexagonal board.
- 8 Players: Octagonal board.
The core gameplay rules remain identical regardless of the board size.
AI Players
- AI follows exactly the same movement rules as human players.
- AI receives no hidden gameplay advantages.
- Only God Mode intentionally changes dice probability.
The Adaptive Luck Engine™
"Subtly aligns odds in your favor"
The Adaptive Luck Engine™ (ALE) is a gameplay system designed to create exciting matches, dramatic finishes, and memorable moments. It allows a specifically chosen "Favored Player" (e.g., Red Faction) to receive subtle, probabilistic advantages. When active, ALE boosts the Favored Player's chances of getting exactly what they need, while nerfing opponents' chances of cutting them.
Engine Intensity Levels
The Suspicion Guard
To protect the illusion of fairness, the engine tracks a sliding window of your last 10 rolls. If it detects "impossible" streaks - like rolling the same face 4 times in a row, or a suspicious density of 6s - it generates a Suspicion Score. If the score climbs too high, the engine will temporarily disable ALE until the heat dies down.
God Mode (Master Control)
"Configure dice probability per player"
God Mode completely supersedes the Adaptive Luck Engine. It provides highly configurable per-player probability control. If enabled, the subtle ALE system is safely disabled.
